Parent Code of Ethics

The Paso Robles Girls Softball League is committed to providing a safe, positive, and enjoyable youth sports experience for all participants. In alignment with USA Softball of Southern California, all parents and guardians are expected to uphold the following Parents’ Code of Ethics.

By allowing my child to participate in Paso Robles Girls Softball League, I agree to the following:

  • I will provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child and all participants.
  • I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for players, coaches, officials, and volunteers at all games, practices, and league events.
  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of any personal desire to win.
  • I will insist that my child participates in a safe and healthy environment.
  • I will support coaches and officials working with my child to help foster a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
  • I will demand a sports environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
  • I will remember that youth sports are for the players—not the adults.
  • I will do my best to make the youth sports experience fun and rewarding for my child.
  • I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, spectators, and officials with respect, regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.
  • I will help my child enjoy their softball experience by being a respectful fan, assisting when appropriate, and supporting team needs such as transportation or volunteer efforts.
  • I will require that my child’s coach is properly trained in the responsibilities of youth sports coaching and upholds the Coaches’ Code of Ethics.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Ethics may result in disciplinary action as determined by Paso Robles Girls Softball League, up to and including removal from league activities.
